Teaching Classics and, more generally, Humanities has always been a demanding task, especially in an era where their value is constantly being questioned. Professors of Greek and Latin often find themselves defending the relevance of their discipline or advocating for its place within modern academic environments. This conference seeks to shed light on, and reaffirm, the importance of teaching Classics, but also the Humanities at large. It will address the many challenges educators face, as well as the rich opportunities that exist in this field. Organized by the Centre for the Study of the Ancient World (CSAW), this two-day conference will explore effective strategies to spark, sustain, and deepen students’ interest in the study of Classics.
