Fotini Vaki studied Philosophy, Education and Psychology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and then completed an M.A and a Ph.D in philosophy at the University of Essex. Before joining the department, she taught at the University of Patras and the University of Crete. She is the author of articles both in Greek and English on European Enlightenment, German Idealism (in particular Kant and Hegel), Marx, and the Frankfurt School (especially Adorno and Habermas).
Main interests: Modern and contemporary Political Philosophy and Philosophy of History (especially Enlightenment, German Idealism and Frankfurt School).
Current research: Aspects of the 18th century Philosophy of History.
